Obituary

Walter Carl Roth, 89, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2018 at the Hospice House in Hutchinson. He was born on June 13, 1929 the son of John and Lola (VanCampen) Roth in Castleton, Kansas. On May 10, 1955 married Loma D. Smither in Hutchinson, Kansas. Walter attended the First Church of God and Union Valley Bible Church, both of Hutchinson. He worked for 20 years in maintenance for Eaton, before entering retirement in 1991. He held memberships with the Union Lodge #1992, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Walter was an avid Bingo player while at Good Samaritan and the DeLos V. Smith Center. His other hobbies include camping, fishing, crossword puzzles, checkers and watching old westerns on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse and two brothers, Leonard and Raymond Roth. Survivors include two children, Randy and wife Virginia Roth, Hutchinson and Carla Quick, Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Aaron Quick, Jessica Novak, Matthew Roth, Philip Roth, Kaci Quick; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Whitley-Roth, AJ Quick and Levi Roth. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with the family greeting guests from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Center or the DeLos V. Smith Senior Center in care of the funeral home at 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
