Hutchinson – Virginia F. Redford, 69, passed away April 27, 2022 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 13, 1952 in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Malcolm and Esther (Doty) Akins.

Virginia graduated from Hutchinson High School. For 20 years she was a teacher at Christian Church Academy. In 2010, Virginia married Jimmy D. Redford in Hutchinson. He passed away on January 17, 2022. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Redford; two sisters, Mary Cochran and Lucinda Curless; and one brother, Raymond Aikins.

Survivors include her three sons, Tony (Marla) Sanchez, Daniel (Sara) Lizalde, and Nathan Newboles; one brother, Mike Akins; two sisters, Charlotte Coker and Della Redford; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, May 9th –Thursday, May 12th at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
