Toni L. Howell, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.
Toni was born March 13, 1939, in Newton, KS, the daughter of Clifford R. and Edith D. (Anduss) Thomas. On August 20, 1956, she married Benjamin F. Howell in Wichita, KS, to this union they were blessed with four children, Chris, Jeff, David and John.
Toni was an avid reader, reading several books weekly. She loved to garden, shop at Walmart and record and watch soap operas. Her favorite days were when it rained. And rightly so, a thunderstorm occurred the morning of her passing. Her favorite thing, however, was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Toni was a homemaker most of her life, but also worked as a teacher's aide for USD 311 and retired from USD 308 where she a drove school bus. Toni was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and Elmdale senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Arnette Peterman and two brothers, Richard and Ron Thomas.
Toni is survived by her husband, Benjamin; four children, Chris (Van Stewart) Powell, Jeff Howell, David (Gidget Paris) Howell, and John (Michelle) Howell; two brothers, Don (Nancy) Thomas and Jim (Teri) Thomas; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Koontz, Ryan (Molly) Scott, Cody (Heather) Howell, Dillon (Tana Cash) Howell, Kelsey (Tyler Harris) Howell, and Cassidy (Dain Ellis) Howell; eleven great grandchildren, Caleb, Abby and Naomi Koontz, Otto, Campbell, and Tolliver Scott, Hadley Howell, Gannon Ellis, Gavin Cash, Jacob Harris, and Creede Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Tim Adrian presiding. Friends may sign the book 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 and Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to Westside Baptist Church or Hospice of Reno County and sent in care of the funeral chapel.Service will be lived streamed on the chapel's Facebook page: Hutchinson Chapel.
