Ted K. Zimmerman,92, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. He was born on July 5, 1925 in Sterling, KS to Earl and Nellie (Lavielle) Zimmerman.

On December 1, 1942 he married Emma Jenkins in Hutchinson, KS. The couple met at the Crystal Ballroom in Hutchinson. Together they traveled to Mission, Texas, where they spent 14 winters. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2004.

Ted was a lifetime member of the Hutchinson community. He worked for the State of Kansas, Department of Corrections for 21 years before entering retirement in June 1988.

On August 10, 1943 Ted enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in Kansas City, MO. He was honorably discharged on February 13, 1946 at Camp Pendleton, in Oceanside, CA.

Preceding Ted in death are his parents, his wife, Emma; two children, Bradley Zimmerman and Sharon Taylor; sister, Sandra Martin and grandson Shawn Zimmerman.

Survivors include a son, Earl "Buster" Zimmerman, Louisiana; granddaughter, Sonya (Denny) O'Brien, Hutchinson; brother, Kenneth Zimmerman, Modesto, CA; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren

Visitation will be held Friday, April 13th, 1:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting guests from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 14th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502

Burial will be held at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson. The United States Marine Corps Honor Guard will be presenting honors.
