Sharon Kay Halula, 79, passed away on December 1, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph, Wichita, KS. She was born December 18, 1940, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Marvin and Esther (DeGroff) Moles. Sharon graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1958. She worked as a medical transcriptionist, art teacher and as a surgical assistant. She loved oil painting and was a master seamstress. She also enjoyed making jewelry and woodworking that won her ribbons at the fair. Sharon attended and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, where she volunteered and made many rosaries. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Halula, sons, Brian and Matthew Halula. Sharon is survived by her children, Anna (Rodney) Halula-Busby, Andrew (Judy) Halula, Katherine (Lewis Jackson) Halula, Elizabeth (Dennis) Goff and son-in-law, Tracy Terry; 13 grandchildren, Zachary (Saira) Voller, Melissa (Sean) Dixon, Virginia Voller, Kristin Voller, Kaycee (Kingham) Johnson, Heather (Richard) Gossman, Gabrielle (Isaac Fults) Halula, Nathan (Danielle) Halula, Hollie Halula, Allison Halula, Brittney Terry, Taylor Terry and Joshua Jackson; 21 great grandchildren, Mikey Voller, Amber, Mara, Naomi and Jacqueline Dixon, Tyler, Lucas and Gavin Showers, Rachel Donner, Christian, Penelope and Winter Gossman, Rosemary, Archer, Harrison and Baby Betty Halula- Fults, Melody, Alexis and Harper Halula, James and Lydia Mazur. Rosary Service will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson, KS with Father Michael Kerschen officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with family present to greet guests from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Catholic Church or Catholic Charities and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family asks that masks be worn at the visitation and funeral mass.
