Roy Don Eugene Cooper, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.  Roy was born on March 14, 1936, in Great Bend, KS, the son of Adelbert and Doris (Nelson) Cooper.

Roy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1954.  He enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1974 after serving 20 years as a Tech Sergeant.  On November 24, 1965, Roy married Wanda Mae Speegle.    He was a member of the American Legion Post 68.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; sisters, Josephine Heller, Darlene O'Neal and Kay Wilmont; brothers, Nelson Cooper and Jr. Cooper.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Cooper Olson and Shelli (Jon) Paine; four grandchildren, Derek Olson, Carley Olson, Sean Paine and Jaxon Paine; two great grandchildren, Eria Olson and Callahan Olson; niece, Linda (Larry) Deckard, Nephew, Audie Heller; and several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Chandler Memorial Cemetery, Chandler, TX.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS.
