Rita Gonzales, 83, died on November 12, 2018 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on May 22, 1935 the daughter of Ambrocio and Petra (Padilla) Ramirez in Arkansas City, KS. She graduated from Arkansas City High School, and spent many years in the community. On May 12, 1962 she married Rudolph Gonzales in Arkansas City. He preceded her in death on September 5, 1990. Rita held a church membership with St. Teresa's Catholic Church of Hutchinson. She worked for 10 years as an inspector for the Hutchinson Bag Company. She later worked part-time for the Hutchinson Magnet School at Allen.
After she retired, Rita enjoyed being home with her family and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, her spouse, six brothers, Ambrose, Adolph, Michael, Cipriano, John and Augustine and one sister, Lucy Mora.
Survivors include her four sons, Michael and his fiancé Linda Cole, Daniel , David and wife Kim, James and wife Marla Gonzales; three sisters, Josephine Rodriguez, Mary Contreras, and Frances Murelio; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018, 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Friday, November 16, 2018 beginning at 9:30 a.m.The Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 West 4th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. 67501 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Teresa's Catholic Church in care of the funeral home at 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
