Richard J. Holoubek, 82, passed away on December 12, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on August 4, 1939 in Timkin, KS, the son of John and Alma (Pechanec) Holoubek.
Richard graduated from Hutchinson High School. After graduating, Richard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on January 8, 1963. On May 29, 1965 he married Peggy J. Owens in Hutchinson. They renewed their vows at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Richard was a self-employed salesman for most of his life. In his free time Richard loved to go bowling, golfing, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage doing woodwork and working on tractors. He was a member of the Radicals Car Club in high school and St. Teresa Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Peggy; step-father, Peter McCormick; sister, Pat Phipps; niece, Linda Phipps; and nephew, Daniel Holoubek.
Survivors include his five children, Tim (Blythe) Wilkinson, Hutchinson, Victor (Angela) Wilkinson, Hutchinson, Shelly (Brannon) Cole, Inman, Shawna (Darren) Keller, Hutchinson and Angela (Brent) Holoubek Albright, Wichita; one brother, David (June) Holoubek; 14 grandchildren, Jessica (Robert) Ward, Tiffany (Mick) Jones, Tara (Jarrod) Urban, Trent (Chelsey) Mielke, Garrett and Brecken Wilkinson, Brody, Braden, Brock and Tia Cole, Heidi Keller, Hannah (Wesley) Chaney, Hayden Keller and Connor Greer; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Teresa Catholic Church of Avila, 211 E. 5th Ave, Hutchinson at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the Rosary, beginning at 10:30 a.m., Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Kansas Honor Flight or St. Teresa Catholic Church in care of the funeral chapel at 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502
