Phillip D. Schmidt, 58, died on July 25, 2018 in Wichita, KS. He was born on March 31, 1961 in Carrolton, KY the son of Waldo D. and Laura P. (Harlow) Schmidt. Phillip could be found with his fishing pole in a nearby pond or out hunting. He would torment and tease those he loved the most, being one of the most orneriest guys you could meet. Preceding him in death is his father, Waldo D. Schmidt. Survivors include his wife, Pearl of Pretty Prairie; his mother, Laura P. Palmer, Newton; seven children, Cindy Little, Park City, Mindy (John) Arreguin, Newton, Kamie Schmidt, Hutchinson, Jordan Pease, Halstead, Erica Hughes, Wichita, Phoenix and Parker Schmidt, Pretty Prairie; three siblings, Lavonne Ratcliff, Gerald Graevs and Gloria (Ben) Taylor, all of Newton; seven grandchildren A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th, Hutchinson. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Covenant Assembly of God Church of Kingman in care of the funeral chapel.
