Obituary

Patrick "Pat" Joseph Johnson, 75, was born March 17th, 1950, and passed away peacefully on December 22nd, 2025.

Pat lived a life defined by hard work and a dedication to his family. He spent many years working in an oil refinery for NCRA, and later CHS, Inc., where he was recognized for his strong work ethic, dependability, and the pride he took in his work. He gave many years of loyal service, demonstrating his perseverance and sense of responsibility in a demanding profession.

On December 27th, 1980, Pat married the love of his life, Cheryl K Johnson. Together, they built a life rooted in commitment, loyalty, and shared strength and were preparing to celebrate 45 years of marriage. Their enduring partnership was a testament to Pat's devotion and steadfast character.

Pat was deeply loved by his loyal dogs: Rex, Webster, and Molly, who were constant companions and brought him great joy.

Family meant everything to Pat, and he took great pride in the generations that followed him. Those who knew Pat will remember him as steady, honest, and grounded – a man who believed in showing up, working hard, and standing by the people he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and the values he passed down. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pat is survived by his wife; Cheryl, his children; Patrick Dustin Johnson, Nadine Allen (Joe), Todd Bowman (Jodi), ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Marsha Lay, Dianne Hrabe, and his twin, Peggy Hamilton (Harold).

A Celebration of Life will be held at the McPherson Community Building, 122 E. Marlin St., McPherson, Kansas on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm with Reverend Charles Crumble Sr. officiating.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the McPherson Animal Shelter and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
