Patricia "Patty" Miller, animal lover and humanitarian, died of Lymphoma Thursday, Jan 13, 2022, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS in full knowledge that she would be welcomed into the saving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.The memorial service will be held on January 21, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 East 30th Ave., Hutchinson, Kansas; visitation with family will occur between 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the service.

Patricia "Patty" Ruth Haflich was born in 1948 in La Junta, Colorado, to Richard and LaVida (Witt) Haflich. She graduated from Hutchinson HS in 1966 and entered the work force. She said while at her first job she learned she was expected to be at work during established hours and for the whole week! Upon being fired, she realized they were serious. To her credit, she was later rehired with the understanding compliance with company rules was necessary. This experience led her to successfully complete 37 years of employment with RL Polk where she was publicly recognized by the company for her strong work ethic and professionalism. In 1968 she married Robert Miller but later divorced in 1971.

Patty was an engaged member of Faith Baptist Church in Hutchinson. She enjoyed gardening and rescuing stray animals, providing them a loving home. Her heart for others was equaled by her dexterity with needle and thread - knitting, crocheting, and needlework - and free-hand painting. She was a strong-willed, loving and compassionate woman with a whimsical sense of humor.

In Patty's final weeks and months, she was cared for by her friends, including attending her at Hospice House. The love, care and compassion shown by Rowdena, Janet, Rebecca, and Darla eased her pain and discomfort. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Haflich (Lanna) of Holdrege, NE, and step-brother Fay Ahrens (Cindy) of Grannis, AR; five nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great niece and great-great nephew as well as numerous cousins and loving friends.

As Patty whimsically said shortly before she died, "That's all folks."
