Michael Dean Wallace Sr., 75, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Michael was born on July 15, 1947, in Salina, Kansas, the son of Vance Darling and Mary Jean (Ribble) Wallace. Michael graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965 and attended Bethel College and Hutchinson Community College where he received his Associates Degree. He also attended Wichita Area Technical School where he received his Nursing License. He loved farming and was a self-employed farmer for 15 years. Michael opened up and was the Manager of McDonalds on 30
th
St. in Hutchinson. He served in the United States Navy as a corpsman, where he received two purple hearts in the Vietnam War. He also served in the United States Marine Corps and The National Guard. He was honorably discharged from all three branches. On July 11, 1998, he married Becky Tucker in Hutchinson.
Michael was a member of The Father's House, the Military Order of Purple Hearts and the American Legion Post 68.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Doug Wallace.
Michael is survived by his wife, Becky Wallace; five children, Georgie (Al) Jacobs, Michael (Melissa) Wallace Jr., Michelle Wallace, Daniel (Lindsey) Wallace and Ryan Pinkston; 10 grandchildren, Jake, Zachary, Ashley, Rylee, Reis, Kaden, Olivia, Austin, Shawn and Cara; six great grandchildren, Kya, Hartley, Jackson, Mila, Stevie and Jovie; three sisters, Kathy (Jud) McClanahan, Debbie Gibson and Becky Wallace.
Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at The Fathers House, 1505 E. 20
th
