Obituary

Larry Gene Ashcraft, 76, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS. Larry was born on July 30, 1949, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Vernon and Virginia (Carmicheal) Ashcraft.

Larry graduated from Nickerson High School in 1967. He attended Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University where he received his bachelor's degree in psychology. On August 21, 1971, Larry married Jolene May Stoecklein in Hutchinson. Larry worked for the state of Kansas with Children and Family Services for over 30 years. After retiring from there he worked for Horizons in social work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Stephen and Robert Ashcraft.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jolene Ashcraft; daughter, Jennifer Toland (Benjamin) Toland; granddaughters, Amilia and Olivia Ulrich and Annabelle Toland.

Visitation will be Monday, January 26,2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS.

Parish Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Catholic Burial at 11:00 a.m. on January 27, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, KS.

Inurnment will take place in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 510 S. School Street, Ness City, KS. At 4:00 p.m. on January 27, 2026.

Memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Humane Society and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
