Kathy June Zahn was born April 4, 1957 in Hutchinson, KS to Pete and Velma (Schwartz) Smith.  She passed away on March 27, 2023 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  She was 65.

On August 30, 1975, she married Steven Zahn in Hutchinson, KS.  To this union, they had a daughter, Tami L. Zahn. Kathy worked as a secretary for Cheney Door Co. for 30 years before retiring.  She enjoyed sweet Adelines, singing in her quartette, camping and cooking with her family.  She took courses and was a master at knitting and crocheting in Reno County. She gave lessons to others from an early age. Kathy enjoyed entering her master pieces in the Kansas State Fair. She also enjoyed playing cards once a month for 42 years with her ladies. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.

Kathy is preceded by her parents and a sister, Verda Simon.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; her daughter, Tami; a sister, Carol (Martin) Pfister; and her three grandchildren, Dylan (Kimee), Dalton, and Danae.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30 ^th Ave, Hutchinson, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
