Kathryn "Kathy" Garcia, 72, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Overland Park, KS.  Kathy was born December 13, 1951, in Springfield, CO, the daughter of Ignacio and Angelita (Alfaro) Negrete.  In 1979, she married Ben F. Garcia in Hutchinson, KS.  They were only married 2 years before his passing in 1981.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ben; a daughter, Rose Miller and a son, Timothy Matthew.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita (Nathanael Timm) Garcia; sisters, Ruth Ann (Tony) Reaves and Janet Negrete; four grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Charles Crumble Sr. officiating.  Memorials may be given to Cause for Paws Inc. and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
