Karen Elaine Mahoney, 72, passed away on February 18, 2019 at Diversicare in Sedgwick, KS. She was born on July 14, 1946, in Turon, KS., the daughter of Nevin and Annabel (Krob) McMurphy. Karen graduated from Bucklin High School in 1964 and attended Hutchinson Community College where she received her degree in Secretarial Science. She was a CNA/CMA at various nursing homes. On October 31, 1965, Karen married John Mahoney in Hutchinson, KS. She held a church membership with the First Christian Church in Hutchinson and the Moose Lodge #982. In Karen's spare time she loved to play bingo and watch soap operas. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, John. Survivors include her children, Troy Mahoney and Tanya Frederick; grandchildren, Heather, Christopher and Haleigh; and great grandchildren, Jonathan, Dakota and Evan There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home at 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
