Joyce Ann Vierthaler, 88, passed away on October 19, 2018, at her home in Hutchinson. She was born August 16, 1930 in Rural Zenda, KS, the daughter of Edward and Leona (Miller) Kanngiesser.

She graduated from Zenda High School in 1948. She was a homemaker and the head manager cook at St. Teresa Catholic School where she retired after 13 years.

She held a church membership with St. Teresa's Catholic Church.
On August 16, 1951 she married Omer J. Vierthaler in Zenda.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband Omer; daughter, Lea Ann Smith and granddaughter Victoria.

Survivors include her children; Douglas, Steven, David, Ted, Bruce (Teri), Jane Brown and Thomas (Shelli); five sisters; two brothers; two sister –in-laws; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 1:00-8:00 p.m. with family greeting guests from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Maybriar celebrating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th St., Hutchinson.

Memorials may be given to St. Teresa Catholic Church Window Restoration Fund or the National Breast Cancer Foundation in care of the funeral home.
