Josephine Pearl Heller, 86, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.
She was born January 18, 1932 in Hoisington, KS, the daughter of Aldelbert and Doris (Nelson) Cooper. On June 1, 1951 she married Richard "Dick" Heller at the First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, KS. They celebrated 67 years of marriage together prior to Dick's passing on December 22, 2017.
Josephine enjoyed arts & crafts and other activities at Delos V. Smith Senior Center whenever she could go there. She was a past member of the Red Hat Society and volunteer at the Hutchinson Public Library. She loved her family and attending all her grandchildren's school activities. She was a great cook and all her family commented on how they will miss her pumpkin, zucchini and banana bread especially during the holidays.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick, two sisters, Ruby Cooper and Darline O'Neal, two brothers, A.L. Cooper Jr. and Nelson Cooper and a great-granddaughter, Destenie Heller.
Josephine is survived by her three children, Audie Heller, Michael Heller and Linda (Larry) Deckard all of Hutchinson; a brother, Roy Cooper of Troup, TX; a sister, Kay Wilmont of San Antonio, TX; eight grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to the Hutchinson Public Library, 901 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501 and/or the Delos V. Smith Senior Center, 101 W. 1st Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67501 and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502
