Johnny Lee Carr also known as "Son" was born on April 30,1931 to Leola Carr and Johnny Carr Sr. in Little Rock Arkansas. Johnny was a singer and a dancer. He also loved to play Spoons and smoke cigars. At a very young age Johnny left home and traveled with the fair. Which landed him in Hutchison Kansas. During his travel Johnnie was given the nicknames "Johnny Go Go" and "Dancing Johnny." One of his favorite songs were "Get Your Kicks on Route 66." Johnny was the youngest of three children. One brother Ulysses Fisher Moore and one sister Johnell Davis. Johnny traveled all around Oklahoma and Kansas. He performed at the Ebony Bar Club and Chereno to name a few. Johnny even opened for Ike and Tina Turner Revue. As a kid Johnny would sing around the house. Johnny was also a lover of "The Blues" until here recently he said he didn't listen to the Blues anymore.Johnny is survived by Jackie Carr-Benjamin, (daughter) Clarence Benjamin(husband)(deceased) Catina Benjamin(deceased), Catrina Johnson, Catisha Benjamin, and Catosha Benjamin. Duane Carr(son)(deceased)Mary Carr (wife). Natasha Pounds, Christin Carr and Dominique Carr. Lemuel Thompson(son). Velva L. Brown Haynes(daughter), Clyde Haynes(husband). Angela, Bobby, Jacque and Taylor. Terry Brown(son) Tereshia Brown and Tekisha Brown-Briggs. Ruby Blackmon(daughter). James Lusk, James Underdue, Shania Underdue, Saving Pittman, Alexous Blackmon, Asia Blackmon and Anthony Brown. On February 28, 2021 Johnnie ascended home to be with Jesus. Johnny will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
