John J. Wedman, 79, died on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Diversicare in Hutchinson. He was born on July 4, 1938 in Caldwell, KS to Paul "Cleo" and Ida Mary (Metzinger) Wedman.

John was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Before moving to the Hutchinson community, he farmed and ranched near Caldwell, KS and in the Oklahoma area. When growing up, he was a member of the Caldwell Catholic Church.

For many years, John farmed and ranched. He also worked for Rubbermaid, Tyson and Smith Tool companies.

Preceding him in death are his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his daughter Charleen (John) Blanton, Hutchinson; sister Celica Pressier, Turon and two granddaughters, Kristin and Ginger Gecho, Hutchinson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours in Caldwell, KS.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on the same day.

Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at a later date.
