John Edward Harris, 73, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hutchinson Health and Rehabilitation in Hutchinson, KS. He was born on December 8, 1944 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Willie and Lenora (Hatten) Gamble.

On April 15, 1968, John married Erma Floyd in Hutchinson. They have celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Evelyn Threets and Ivory Lee; and one brother Percy Jr.

Survivors include wife, Erma Harris; three children, Treva Jones, Dallas, TX, Trent Harris and Troy Harris, both of Hutchinson, KS.; five brothers, Theodore (Barbara) Hawthorne, Las Vegas, NV, Willie (Brenda) Gamble, Hutchinson, KS., Jerry (Carolyn) Gamble, Hutchinson, KS., Don (Tabitha) Gamble, Dallas, TX. and Lonzo Allen, Stuttgart, AR.; three sisters Vinnie Gamble, Linda Kay Gamble, and Joyce Faye Coleman; seven grandchildren, Trae Harris, Triffanie Simms, Treston Harris, Trezney Jones, Alia Harris, Triana Harris, and Taiya Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Tayvian Simms and Kamden Harris.

A private family visitation will be held Friday, March 23rd from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and public visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March. 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 N. Ford St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
