John Neil Gilley, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at The Wesley in Hutchinson, KS. He was born July 22, 1947, in Hutchinson, KS, to Jefferson and Erma (Dorris) Gilley.

John graduated from Hutchinson High School graduating in 1965.  He worked for Cessna and Jacksons Ice Cream.  He later started his own business, Gilley's Metals in Hutchinson.  On October 19, 1984, John married Tamara "Tammy" Brawner in Hutchinson. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending auctions, playing dominos, and spending time with his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ernie Gilley.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Gilley; children, John P. (Angie) Gilley, Jerry (Leslie) Gilley, Jamie (Terry) Gilley-Smarsh, Anthony (Julie) Brawner, Denice (Rusty) Gilliland; a brother, Jeff (Sandy) Gilley; 12 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Hutchinson, with Pastor Jerry Stokley officiating.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Gentiva Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
