Janice Louise Jensen, 83, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Hutchinson, KS.  She was born in Hutchinson, KS on April 26, 1940, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Strawn) Sterling.

Janice attended Nickerson High School and graduated in 1958.  In 1981, Janice opened up Adam and Eves Hairstyle Salon where she owned and worked for many years.  On September 2, 1988, she married Richard "Rick" A. Jensen in Hutchinson, KS.  They spent 34 wonderful years together before he passed away on September 18, 2022.  Jan and Rick enjoyed many wonderful trips together. They enjoyed motorcycle trips, especially their trip to Europe. They square danced and participated in bus trips and card parties. Jan was a longtime member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Sterling; husband, Rick Jensen; and her five siblings, Don Sterling, Norma Scott, Richard Sterling, Ernie Sterling and Joyce Elliot.

She is survived by her six children, Dan (Micki) Smith, Christine (Jeff) Neighbors, DeAnna (Donnie) Blew all of Hutchinson, KS, Teresa (Louis) Enriquez of El Paso, TX, Staci (Jon) Strnad and Sean Jensen all of Belleville, KS; 12 grandchildren, Mark and Keith Gregg, Ashley and Brody Smith, Jeffrey and Kelton Neighbors, Amanda, Andrea and Angela Jackson, Courtney Enriquez, Morgan and Grant Strnad; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Salt City Cowboy Church, 810 N. Main St, South Hutchinson, KS 67505, with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Janice Jensen Memorial Fund, and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
