Hutchinson – Janet L. Stringos, 85, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Mennonite Friendship Manor, Hutchinson, KS She was born July 6, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Elmer E. and Jean (Preston) Rettke. On January 11, 1965 she married Stephen John Stringos in Hutchinson, KS, to this union they were blessed with three children, John, George and Beau. Janet enjoyed working outside in the yard, planting flowers and watching Royals baseball. The last three summers she had the pleasure of spending time with her younger sister Karen when she came from Buffalo, NY to visit her. The loves of her life were her sons and all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stephen on June 28, 2007, a sister Betty Leising and a brother Jerry Rettke. Janet is survived by her three sons, John (Kim) Stringos of Wichita, George (Anita) Stringos of Arlington, Beau Stringos of Cleveland, MO; a sister, Karen Caton of Lockport, NY; five grandchildren, Jacob Cooper, Taylor Stringos, Sage Stringos, Cayenne Stringos, Zoe Stringos and one great granddaughter, Sylar Cooper. A celebration of Janet's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor David Landis officiating. There will not be a public visitation as cremation was chosen. A book signing will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to Hospice Services of Reno County and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
