Obituary


Early on the morning of July 7, 2018, Jack Lewis McMillian SR. chose to join his wife, Tata Merlyn Webb McMillian and our Lord in their heavenly home. Jack left this earth peacefully surrounded by loved ones after being admitted to the Robert J. Dole VAMC Hospice unit in Wichita KS.

He was born on December 3, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Albert Lewis McMillian and Ollie Euceba Scott McMillian Rossaker. Jack enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1951-1953. After being discharged with honors, he was employed with the United States Postal Service, and retired from his postal carrier position with over 20 years of service. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lewis McMillian and Ollie Euceba Scott McMillian Rossaker and by a grandson Max Dean McMillian JR. He is survived by siblings Shirley Gulick, William McMillian and his wife Shirley, Sheila Reif, Larry McMillian and his wife Diane and Jerry McMillian and his wife Vanessa as well as five adult children, Jack McMillian JR. and his wife Linda, Belinda Smith and her husband Gary, Max McMillian and his wife Tina, Patricia McMillian and Lewis McMillian and his wife Mary along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Sylvia Kansas Cemetery; a reception to follow. Memorial fund donations can be made to Kindred Hospice through Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
