Iva Lou Baker, 93, died on February 2, 2019 at the Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born on August 30, 1925, in Cheney, KS., the daughter of Lynn and Iva (Sears) Souders.
Iva graduated from Cheney High School in 1942. She also attended Friends University. She was a homemaker, a trust officer for the Fourth National Bank for 11 years, and she was a newspaper Reporter and wrote Spiritual Columns.
On September 1, 1943 Iva married Donald Vosburgh in Cheney, KS. This union was blessed with three children, Alan, Scharon and Karen. They later separated and Iva married Arthur Baker in November 1971 in Oklahoma.
Iva held a church membership with the United Methodist Church in Norwich, KS.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; siblings, Harold, Cecil, Floyd, Virgil Souders and Veva Mae Sterbenz; and a son; Alan Van Vosburgh.
Survivors include her two children, Scharon (Ralph) Merriman and Karen (Robert) Yingst; grandchildren, Michelle Renee Palermo, Sara Lou (Jeffery) Miller, Khloe Draek Suey, Kameron Giuseppe Palermo, Cy Augustus Palermo, Sebastian John Miller and Louna Rose Miller.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, KS.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House or United Methodist Church in Norwich, in care of the funeral home at 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.
