Helen I. Smith, 87, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2022 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.   She was born July 7, 1935 in Mapleton, KS, to George and Thelma Albertson Keffer.

Helen was a homemaker who truly loved cooking especially for her family.  She also loved traveling with her husband.   On January 20, 1951, she married Eugene "Beans" Smith in McPherson.  They shared 70 years of marriage prior to his death on December 12, 2021. Helen attended New Life Nazarene Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; son, Floyd Smith; great grandson Asher Smith and four siblings.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Janice Davis of Fairbanks, AK and Terry (Mike) Luman of Nickerson; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Per Helen's wishes, her body was donated to the Willed Body Program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.  The family would like to thank the staff at Reflections Living in Hutchinson for their care and compassion.
