Helen Marie Smith, 72, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita, KS. She was born March 29, 1949 in Hutchinson, KS to Athelano and Josephine (Morado) Raya.

Helen was an LPN for 35 years in the Wichita area. She liked bingo, cooking and spending time with her family. She also loved spending time with her dogs, Meka and Jazzy.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Joseph Harper.

Helen is survived by her significant other Major White; two sons, Dennis Raya and Curtis Harper; one daughter, Tamara Henry; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave. Family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Father Eric Weldon officiating at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
