Helen Lucille Malmstrom, 91, passed away on July 23, 2021 at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village. She was born March 8, 1930 in Bennington, KS to Charles and Clara (Nelson) Vaupel.

Helen graduated from Salina High School and worked at Reno Hardware for over 15 years. On September 7, 1952 Helen married Max L. Malmstrom in Salina, KS. Helen enjoyed talking about Indian Lore and taught Sunday school at First Christian Church for 10 years.

Helen is survived by her two sons, Rory Malmstrom of Denver, CO and Greg Malmstrom of Hutchinson, KS and one brother, Charles Vaupel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, a brother, Carl Vaupel and two sisters, Vivian and Dorothy Werner.

A Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave. Hutchinson, KS, with Reverend Charles Crumble Sr. presiding.

Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
