Hazel Edith Brawner, 85, passed away on May 31, 2023 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. She was born December 23, 1937 in Oregon County, MO, the daughter of Henry J. A. and Lois I. (Mobley) Smith.

Hazel married Delmar Brawner on June 15, 1955 in Newkirk, OK. They were married 57 years before he passed away in 2012.  Hazel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending her free time crocheting.  Hazel was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church, Hutchinson.

Survivors include her three children, Ricky Brawner, Tammy (John) Gilley, and Norma Brawner; seven grandchildren, Joy Karns, Jennifer Huskey, Angela Ord, Serena Smith, Regina Vanagas, Anthony Brawner, and Denice Gilliland; one sister, Ruth Holloway; two brothers, Jim Smith, and Loyd Smith; 21 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar; and a sister, Nancy Olson.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, with the family present from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, with Pastor Jerry Stokely officiating, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Full Gospel Fellowship Church , in care of the funeral chapel.
