Harriet Jean "Jeannie" (Mains) Sharp, 86, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.   Jean was born August 18, 1938, in Houston, TX, the daughter of Lewis and Ara Virginia (Smith) Gillette. She graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, MO.

On April 4, 2004, Jean married John E. Sharp in Wichita, KS.  They spent 14 happy years together before his passing in 2019.  She had a love of the elderly and worked at Terrace Gardens Retirement Community in Wichita, KS as an activity director for 30 years.

Jean is proceeded in death by her parents, and husband, John.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Mains and Kent (Mary) Mains; one brother, Gary (Diana) Gillette; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a niece and 2 nephews, 2 great nephews, and lifelong friend, Carolyn Jeter.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements and care entrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
