Gregory Aaron Gomez passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichta, KS. He was born June 25, 1948, Hutchinson, KS to Robert and LaVena Gomez.
Greg spent many decades as a draftsman in the woodworking industry and as a cabinet designer. He had a one of a kind sense of humor, was an avid sports fan and was a true ride or die Dallas Cowboys fan. Greg spent a lot of time in the creative space, sketching, painting and building many things from personal mementos to wooden chairs. Greg was a loving father and extraordinary grandfather (PaPa). He was a jazz connoisseur and chess enthusiast, to say the least.
Greg is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Dalyne Gomez (May 2002) and his youngest son, Sean Gomez (November 2007).
He is survived by his two children, Felecia and Damien Gomez, his adopted daughter, Jenny (Ryan); younger brother, Gary (Patty) Gomez; six grandchildren, Dominique, Tareia (Dre), Jarin, Koltin, Brayden and KC; as well as two great grandsons, Axsol and James Gregory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be 11 A.M until service time on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Family will be present to greet friends at 1 P.M. Repass/Dinner will follow at New Resurrection Church, 1500 Forrest St, Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Christian Soup Ministry or the Hutchinson Public Library , and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
