Hutchinson – Gary Eugene Urbanek, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. He was born on September 25, 1946 in Ellsworth, KS, the son of Benjamin Joseph & Rosena (Schroder) Urbanek.

Gary worked as a maintenance manager for Tyson Foods for 15 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and working on cars. He was also a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Ellsworth, KS. On June 5, 1965, he married the love of his life, Linda Geering, in Lincoln, KS. To this union, they had four children; Michael James, Melissa Ann, Kelly Joe and Chad Allen.

Gary is preceded by his parents, Benjamin and Rosena; three brothers, Joseph, David and Donald Urbanek; and a grandson, Aaron Michael Urbanek.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; four children, Michael (Liz) Urbanek, Melissa (Mike) McReynolds, Kelly (Kellie) Urbanek, and Chad Urbanek; a brother, James (Cheryl) Urbanek; three sisters, Rosemary Rathbun, Theresa (Les) Richards, and Valerie Urbanek; eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

There will be no services held at this time as cremation was chosen. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
