Gabriel Raya, 55, died on August 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 6, 1963 in Hutchinson, KS the son of Atilano "Judge" and Carmen (Ruiz) Raya. Gabriel worked for Siemens Corporation as a material handler and most recently Eaton Corporation as an assembler. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He has been united in marriage to Angelita "Angie" for 34 years. Gabriel was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. In his free time you would find Gabriel watching old western movies, with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood in them, listening to music, especially, Santana. He also enjoyed visiting the casinos, traveling and fishing. He loved KU sports, Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Yankees. Preceding him in death was his father. Survivors include his mother, Carmen, Hutchinson; wife Angie, Hutchinson; three children, Juan Raya, KC, MO, Rachel (Thomas) Harris, Hutchinson, and Andres Raya, Denver,CO; brother, Gilberto Raya, Wichita, KS ; three grandchildren, Jordan and Kennedy Harris and baby Austin. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Madonna Hall of Our Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. following the Rosary. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson.
