Obituary

Frances Leona "Lee" Rizzo, age 92 passed away on July 28, 2025, in Hutchinson, KS. Born in 1933 in Erie, Pa.to Francesco Giuseppe Gentile and Maria Rosaria Deluca. She had one sister, Louisa Alargisa. She attended many baseball games with her father and became a lifelong Yankees fan. The sisters graduated from Saint Benedict Academy; Lee worked as a bookkeeper before marrying Charles Richard Rizzo in 1960. Together they had six children.

She was a devout, lifelong catholic, teaching CCD at Our Lady of Mercy in Harborcreek, PA. and a kitchen volunteer at the Boy's Home. The family moved to Hutchinson KS. in 1978 and became members of Holy Cross Catholic Church where she again taught CCD. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports and perform music. One of her favorite things to do was to cook pasta dinners for her family on Sunday (and sometimes on Wednesday), taking walks after dinner and caring for her grandchildren. Lee was an avid reader, usually books with religious themes.

Proceeded in death by husband, Charlie; parents, Francesco and Maria; sister, Louisa and daughter, Rebecca Ann.

Survived by sons, Richard and wife Valerie, Christopher and wife Trisha, Mark and wife Marybeth; daughters, Andrea, Marsha and husband Jason. Lee had eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
