Eugenia Emily Rodriguez, 81, passed away September 23, 2024, at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS.  The daughter of Antonio and Cleofas (Urioste) Flores.  Eugenia was born in Villanueva, New Mexico on November 13, 1942.

She was a homemaker and assisted her husband, John in supervising the cross-country teams in Delta, Colorado on away trips, as well as attending numerous cross-country races, track meets, basketball games and summer races of her son, Chris and daughter, Amanda.  Eugenia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church from 1976-2019 and was an Altar Society member.  She also attended St. Teresa Catholic Church from 2020-2024.

Her family moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1945.  She attended schools there until 1959 when her family moved to Greely, Colorado.  She worked for Wright and Magill until 1962 when she met and married John Rodriguez on June 13, 1963, in Colby, Kansas.

Eugenia is survived by her two sons, John M. (Vera) Rodriguez and Christopher T. (Sam) Rodriguez; two daughters, Lisa R. (Miguel) Martinez and Amanda E. Garcia; two sisters, Rose and Lucy; a brother Tony Jr.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; four sisters, Amanda, Viriginia, Josie and Susie; two brothers, Vidale and Joe; and one grandson.

Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th, Hutchinson, KS, with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS.  Memorial may be made St. Teresa Catholic Church and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
