Elaine M. Koch, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 23rd, 2018 at her home in Wichita. She was born on October 16, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA to Arthur and Jennie Elizabeth (Penrod) Stayton.

She spent the early years of her life in California before relocating to Kansas. She had also resided in Ensign, Hutchinson, and mostly recently, Wichita, KS.

On April 27, 1957, Elaine married Bernard E. Koch, Sr. in Hutchinson. He died on March 7, 2013.

Elaine retired in 1999, from the Reno County Assessor's office.
She held church memberships with St. Teresa's Catholic Church of Hutchinson and St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church of Wichita. Her favorite pastimes included reading and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Preceding her in death were her parents; spouse; step-mom Fern Stayton; brother, James Stayton and half –brother,Dix Montgomery.

Survivors include three children, Kammie Kae (Kevin) Wendler, Wichita, James Douglas Koch, Easley, S.C. and Dana Kristine Brawner, Wichita; two step-sons, Bernard Eugene Koch Jr. and John Thomas Koch; two half-brothers, Rex Montgomery and Greg Stayton; three half-sisters, Ona Gay Glazier, Carol Grady and Debbie Owen; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 26from 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with the family greeting guests from 4:00-6:00 p.m, at the funeral chapel.

Graveside Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
