Edith J. Carey, 89, of Hutchinson, passed away May 16, 2019 at Sunshine Meadows in Buhler. Edith was born to Charles Sr. and Bessie (Meeks) Wyatt on January 9, 1930 in Boone County, MO.
On December 25, 1947 Edith married Estel V. Carey. She worked for Dillons Bakery for 25 years. Edith was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Estel V. Carey.
She is survived by a son Bradley (Lee Ann) Carey of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Jeniece, Bevin, Baylee and Chance; great grandchildren, Brynlee, Quintyn, Kennedi, Kaidyn, Jasmine and Josephine; brothers, Bud (Mary) Wyatt of Centralia, Mo. and Garland Wyatt of Wichta, KS.; and sisters Judy (Don) Ridgeway of Clark, MO. and Merylin Floyd of Halstead, Ks. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019 with family present to greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson. Memorials may be given to Sunshine Meadows or Kindred Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
