Donald L. Loftis, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.
Don was born on January 14, 1953, in Russell, KS, the son of Clyde E. and Virgina (Loftis) McAfee. He was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson. Don had various jobs over the years, truck driving, construction work, and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, time with friends and especially rooting for his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clyde D. McAfee and a nephew, Keith Wingert.
He is survived by a sister, Judy Caviness of Branson, MO; a brother, Rick Casey of Hutchinson; a niece, Kim Baker of Hutchinson; a great niece, Samatha Baker of Colorado; a great nephew, Ahren (Addie) Mahoney of Arkansas, 3 great-great nieces and 1 great-great nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum St., Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends. Burial will take place in the Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, KS. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and/or Hospice House of Hutchinson, KS, and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
