Dessie Marie Kidd, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Inman, KS. She was born to John and Mary (Borrow) Cross on February 19, 1930, near Mountain View, Arkansas.

Dessie married James Kidd on June 3, 1944.  She was in the dietary departments for Broadacres, Grace Hospital, and Hutchinson Hospital before retiring.   Dessie and James had six children and enjoyed her family activities.  Her neighbors and friends were always welcomed.  She cooked and baked to the delight of her family and neighborhood children.  Her hobbies included button collecting, sewing, and garage sales.

Dessie is preceded by her parents; her husband of 54 years, James; siblings and daughter, Barbara Yingling.

She is survived by her children, Jimmie Kidd, Billy (Janet) Vickie (Gary) Stieben all of Hutchinson, Shirley (Merle) Milburn of Jefferson, Georgia, and Sandra McCarley of McPherson; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Guy Hanna officiating.  Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
