David Alan Morrell was born May 7, 1955 to Arthur Ray Morrell Jr. and Nina Fern (Pelton) Morrell in Dodge City, KS.  He passed away on January 14, 2023 at his home in Abbyville, KS.  He was 67 years old.

David attended Arlington Grade School, and graduated in 1973 from Fairfield High School.  He attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received his Associates in Applied Science in December 1976.  He continued to work for many years in Arizona at Wells Fargo.  In 2015, he moved back to Abbyville to care for his mother.

David enjoyed getting together with his family.  He was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed woodwork carving, shooting pool, and followed the Phoenix Sun's and the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is survived by his four siblings, Steve (Brenda) Morrell of Castleton, Lance (Patty) Morrell and Kelly (Ginger) Morrell of Hutchinson, Barry (Lonnie Call) Morrell of Arlington, and also by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 10:00 A.M. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30 ^th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502 with Reverend Charles R. Crumble Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Arlington Township Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Abbyville Senior Center, and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
