Darlene L. Pierson, 90, died on November 12, 2018 in St. John, Kansas. She was born on August 19, 1928 in Willard, Kansas the daughter of Calvin R. and Mildred A. (Caldwell) Rankin. She was a 1946 graduate of Dwight High School. On June 24, 1946, Darlene married Earl Pierson in Salina, KS. He preceded her in death. She held a membership with the Dwight Methodist Church.
Darlene has been a Kansas resident most of her life and spent time in Dwight, Salina, Lyons, Inman, Arlington, Topeka, Hutchinson and most recently St. John. She also had spent some time in Colorado. Darlene was very artistic. Her specialties included china painting and crocheting. Preceding her in death are her parents, her spouse and a son, Richard A. Pierson. Survivors include her two children, Marsha Yocam and Martin Pierson; two brothers, Robert and Gerald Rankin; five grandchildren, Justin Yocam, Brian Yocam , Tyler Pierson, Joel Pierson and Alyssa Mawhirter; 12 great grandchildren; and her companion John Reynozo. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th, and Hutchinson, KS 67502. There will be a Time of Remembrance with the family on Saturday, November 17, 2018, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Quality Inn and Suites, 2110 W. Crawford St., Salina, KS.
