Darlene A. Cole, 89, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Diversicare of Hutchinson, Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 4, 1943, in Ness City, KS, to Clifford and Viola (Borger) Harman.

Darlene graduated from Ness City High School and attended College of Emporia where she received her bachelor's degree in education.  On August 21, 1959, she married Richard Cole in Dodge City, KS.  They were married for 66 years.  After teaching for several years, Darlene stayed at home raising two children, Margaret and Robert.  She spent her free time quilting and sewing.  She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Irl Harman; sister, Myrna Looney; granddaughter, Amilia "Molly" Boring; and daughter-in-law, Jewelene Cole.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Cole; daughter, Margaret (Rex) Pennel; son, Robert Cole; grandchildren, Ben (Kim) Cole, Talia (Joshua) Menter, Eric Cole, Seth Cole, Claude C. Boring; 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

Per Darlene's wishes, cremation has taken place.  Arrangements and care entrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
