Claudie Clifford Pritchard, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. He was born March 28, 1933 in Scotland, AR, the son of Gilford W. & Peryle H. (Cotton) Pritchard.

Claudie attended Buhler High School in Buhler, KS.  He enlisted in the US Army, and served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He later went into the Airforce Reserves. On September 18, 1953, he married Ida J. Pennel in Hutchinson, KS.  They shared 69 years of marriage together before her passing on March 27, 2023. Claudie worked for Jackson's Ice Cream as a maintenance repairman for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #68, Elmdale Senior Center, Delos V. Smith Senior Center, and Friendly Baptist Deaf Church.

Claudie is survived by his seven children, Claudie L. Pritchard, Karen (Valentino) Rodriguez, Leslie D. (Marcine) Pritchard, Charlie E. (Edie) Pritchard, Lola M. (Norman) Elliott, Wayne (Cris) Pritchard, and Don Zwickl; a brother, Bob Pritchard; three sisters, Faith Ann Holms, Peggy Evans, and Kathy Caudillo; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Ida; a daughter, Debra K. Pritchard; a son, Michael C. Pritchard; and five brothers, Leroy, Harry, Gene, Gary, and Veryl Pritchard.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67501, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family to greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hutchinson Animal Shelter and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
