Carolyn Sue Hersman, 68, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, TX. Carolyn was born October 9, 1953, in Hutchinson, KS., the daughter of Otis Lyle and Mary Lou (Smith) Pinkerton. She graduated from Central Christian High School in 1971 and attended John Brown University in Silom Springs, AR. Carolyn was the editor of the Texas Insurance Journal, Houston, TX. On December 21, 1995, Carolyn married Jimmy Hersman in Houston, TX. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou; her husband, Jimmy; two children, Lisa (Mike) Sallee of Smyrna, TN. and Eric L. (Pippa Robertson Lambert) Hornbeck of Austin, TX.; three grandchildren, Treyton, Conner and Tyler Sallee; sister, Deann Pinkerton Anderson of Kansas City, MO., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by include her father, Otis and a brother Mike Pinkerton. Funeral services will be held at ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­1:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in the Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials can be given to the National Kidney Foundationand can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
