Carlene A. Showalter, 71, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her home in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Carlene was born on July 1, 1950, to Lucas J. Jegen and Joyce N. (Braden) Hagen in Junction City, Kansas.Carlene worked in customer service for Cox Communications and retired in 2010 after 23 years of service. Carlene's greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to garden, make flower arrangements and she enjoyed refurbishing old birdhouses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Connie L. Hagen and Cindy L Hagen; one brother, Chris L. Hagen; and two grandsons, Blake Showalter and Joseph McCray.

Carlene is survived by her two children, Matthew R. Showalter and Michelle (Damon) McCray; three brothers, Martin (Donna) Jegen, Ronald (Linda) Jegen and Michael (Tracy) Duman; six grandchildren, Bryce Showalter, Brandon (Brittany) Showalter, Brandy (Corey Ukele) Showalter, Blayze Showalter, Cynthia (Christopher) Cornett, Hennesse Brown and Kathleen Clarck; and three great grandchildren, Nemia Zaid, Coltyn Ukele and Willow Showalter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to Cancer Council of Reno County or Encompass Home Health and Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
