Obituary

Betty Jeanne Sugg, born November 13, 1925, in Hutchinson, passed away peacefully December 24, 2018 in Kansas City.
She touched many lives in her 93 years, and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Betty was the daughter of Ray and Jean Shiells Pierson.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1943, and worked as a dental assistant to Dr. R.M. White. She was a charter member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus, and was a member of a quartet that traveled to numerous competitions. On March 21, 1946, she married Arthur George Sugg, of Colorado Springs. Arthur and daughter Joan preceded her in death. She was an avid supporter and volunteer for the American Cancer Society, and was a compassionate caregiver to her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Ethel Fox, Maxine Jones, Louise French, and one brother Ray Pierson Jr. Survivors include three daughters, Jane Frick of Hutchinson, Kathy Horniman of DeSoto, Beth Latta, of Swainsboro, Georgia, and one son, Rich Sugg, of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Aaron and Allison Frick, and Sarah Cox. She also leaves many other family members and friends, who will miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a memorial contribution be made to the Boy & Girls Clubs of America. The family will hold a private service, per Betty's wishes.
