Obituary

Betty Lou Bishop, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society- Hutchinson Village, Hutchinson, KS.  Betty was born July 21, 1939, in Rushville, NE, the daughter of Hershal H. and Lena M. Britain.

Betty was a devoted mother of four and enjoyed spending her time with her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She also enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester L. Bishop; and brothers, Melvin Wynia and Albert Britain.

Survivors include her four children, Tim (Rhonda) Bishop, Bonnie (Jeff) Stapleton, Mike Bishop and Stanley (Lacy) Bishop; sister-in-law, Therese Wynia; six grandchildren, Heather (Chris) James, Heidi Stohr, Joshua Stapleton, Erich Bishop, Tristan Bishop and Xander Bishop; three great grandchildren, Andy Stohr, Ellery Stapleton and Julia Stapleton; two nieces, Michelle Wood and Tami Hayden; and three nephews, Gregg Wynia, Trevor Britain, and Derek Britain.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, KS.   Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
