Barbara Helen Rudman, 78, died peacefully November 25, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS, with her husband and children at her side. She was born September 28, 1946, in Okeene, OK, the daughter of John and Anne (Hamm) Suderman.

Barbara graduated from Fairview High School, Fairview, OK in 1964. She attended Tabor College and completed her nursing education from Bass Baptist School of Nursing in Enid, OK in 1969. She was called to the nursing profession, and cared for others for 47 years, primarily for Hospice of Reno County until 1994 and Horizons Mental Health until her retirement in 2015. Barbara was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Rollers Book Club. She married Kent Rudman in Fairview, OK, on January 24, 1970.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Kent; daughter, Megan Polley and husband Bruce of Maize, KS; son, Nicholas Rudman and wife, Kelli of Omaha, NE; sister, Elizabeth Wichert of Fairview, OK; six grandchildren, Brue Polley, Blakelyn Polley, Millie Rudman, Max Rudman, Jackson Rudman and Hutchinson Rudman; her special niece Candice Sawatzky and her husband, Randy;  sister-in-law, Jo Suderman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Melvin Cornelsen; and a brother, John Elliott Suderman.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2633 Independence Rd., Hutchinson, KS, Fr. Matthew Marney officiating and Nurse Honor Guard tribute preceding the liturgy. Visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2024, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Reno County Food Bank in care of the funeral chapel.
