Barbara Ellen Brown, 78, of Hutchinson, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Barbara was born November 20, 1945 to Bill and Mary Dipert (both deceased). She was raised by Mary and Delbert Potts, also deceased, with brothers, Cecil (Buddy) and Earl; sisters, Paulette Smith (deceased), Nancy Savage, Nash OK, and Delberta Rodriguez, Kinsley, KS.

In March of 1969, Barbara married Donald Gene Brown (deceased) in Dodge City KS.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Pamela Sue Pease, of Hutchinson, KS, and Debra Kay Larsen, of Allingaabro, Denmark; granddaughters, DeLora Buck, and Rayna Buck, both of Wichita, KS; and great grandson Dalton Spence.

Barbara lived at Wesley Towers since the fall of 2015. She really blossomed and came into her own whilst there. Her ornery nature made her a staff favorite and won her a place in all their hearts, and they hers. Activities were very important to her. If you visited at Bingo time, you had to wait until the game was over, or pull up a chair and join in. No matter her own limitations, she was always willing and eager to help in any way she could. She was truly a remarkable person.

Barbara was on Hospice Care the past few months and so enjoyed the Hospice staff when they visited. They were truly awesome to the very end.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Wesley Towers Chapel, 3709 Asbury Place, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Barry Rodriquez officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at Wesley Towers.  Burial will take place at Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, KS.
